Greenspring Development Initiative

Greenspring Development Initiative is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established to further the well-being and sustainable development of women, children, youth and people with disabilities.

The Greenspring Development Initiative was established early 2007 completed registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 26^th July, 2013.  We operate in Lagos and Delta States in collaboration with Government, Public and Private Sectors, Non-Governmental Organisations, Development Partners together with Citizens towards the enhancement of the dignity of citizens.

Greenspring Development Initiative Objective
To empower women, children and youth in educational development; advocate for the integration of people with disabilities into the Society; sensitize women, children and youth on the prevention and scourge of HIV/AIDS in the society; conduct research in selected aspects of socio-health and human rights problems that confront women, children, youth and carry out massive public education to encourage and promote basic education for the Nigerian child, especially the girl child education.

PROJECT FRIEND OF REGINA MUNDI HOME FOR THE ELDERLY

Project Friend of Regina Mundi Home For The Elderly activities commenced in 1992

• Provide Psycho-Social for the Mental Health of the Home
• Provide financial support
• Mobilise Stakeholders support for the Home
• Organize end of year funfare and social activities for their well-being

HEALTH AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

Organize community free medical Outreaches and conduct health Facility Survey for effective service delivery.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES (PWD) PROJECT

Integrate People with Disabilities into the society. Collaborate with National Association of The Blind (NAB) Lagos Chapter and Madonna School for Children With Special Needs, Okapanam, Delta State.

EDUCATION

Life skills education.  Teach the practices of emotional intelligence, assertive self expression and healthy relationships. Organise seminars, trainings, free lectures, workshops, conduct researches on citizens’ perception survey on education and engage in policy issues.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Support Women, children and youth and older persons for economic enhancement.  Organize skills acquisition programmes and  connect Trainees to sources of funds to eradicate poverty.

ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN UNIT

Empower elderly Caregivers by providing assistance, care and support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in the community Schools.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Promote strategic understanding, evaluation and implementation of the SDGs in Nigeria.  Greenspring belongs to the Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development working in Delta and Lagos States.
